摘要
Sandia National Laboratories and Idaho National Engineering Laboratory are developing a control system to orchestrate operations in an automated analytical chemistry laboratory. Individual software components connected by standardized interfaces provide for a modularized control and information system. The basic approach to automated laboratory system control in the Department of Energy's contaminant analysis automation (CAA) project is described. The implementation of this approach is the task sequence controller (TSC), a software module that provides the supervisory control of the laboratory subsystems and ensures the successful completion of sample analyses.
