摘要
High Altitude Platforms (HAP) are considered as an important part of the future integrated terrestrial as well as satellite networks for providing wireless communication services. HAPs are located at 17-22 km above the earth's surface and are authorized to be used at some 3G services and fixed services in 31/28 GHz. The frequency bands allocated for HAPs services at 47/48 GHz worldwide are shared with some satellite services. HAPs can also be used for providing a full service coverage of a wide rural area, where no terrestrial network is active.
