A.A. BRUSILOV - RUSSIAN COMMANDER

The eminent personality of A.A. Brusilov was at the center of the ideological confrontation between white and red. The fact that a military hero, general and nobleman of the Soviet Army supported the war haunted many. Now, as a hundred years ago, there are a lot of attempts to tarnish his memory. These efforts are part of the information war against Russia, which aims at the modeling of a new historical memory and the changing of heros. At the same time there is an attempt to rehabilitate traitors and discredit the heros of WWI and the Great Patriotic War. The article aims to give a general sketch of the life and military activities of this remarkable Russian commander and to prove that the only motive of his behaviour was the desire to serve his people.
