摘要
In this article it is studied the historical context in which the student movement emerged, with an independent and democratic character, in the Michoacan University. It will be pointed out how it faced government crackdowns in the years 1963 and 1966 that sought to end the democratic project that was being motivated by university students and teachers. The process of student resistance is also reconstructed during the final period of the state government of Agustin Arriaga Rivera, an individual who never ceased to confront and attempt to control the Michoacan University. Finally, it is exposed some conclusions about the importance of this student movement that had on the development of Nicolaita University and the political history of the state of Michoacan.
