CONFOCAL INTERFERENCE MICROSCOPY - A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DRY AND IMMERSION LENSES

摘要：
An extra phase term has been found in the defocus signal V(z) in confocal microscopy when an immersion lens is used. A general expression for V(z) for different cases has been derived and the confocal interference method has been used to observe the effect of the phase terms on the defocus signal V(z). These results reinforce our view that the confocal reflection three-dimensional transfer function is offset axially in spatial frequency space.
