摘要
The Helmholtz free energy of phase transformation in a closed isochoric system is investigated. It depends on both size and number density of the clusters of the new phase. This free energy builds up a surface which exhibits a crest and valley. Changes of the state of the closed isochoric system are represented by trajectories on the free energy surface. Examples of such trajectories are calculated by numerical methods, and their physical meaning is discussed. The most probable path for a phase transition is the result of these considerations.
