摘要：
Petrographic and petrochemical study of the reported melagreywacke/hornblende quartzite band near Basantgarh reveals compositional variation along its length. The band is made of both igneous and metasedimentary rocks which are represented by leucocratic amphibolite, gneisses and schists. Chemically the leucocratic amphibolite is similar to the plagiogranites and possibly derived by differentiation of a melt which was protolith for the metabasites of the area.
