International migration and social change in modern societies

This paper intends to reveal the complexities of the existing relations between the contemporary migration flows and the societies that receive them, considering the social, cultural -identitary-, political and economic transformations that come with these processes; that is to say, the role that immigrants play in enhancing social changes. We analyze, on the one hand, these migrations as factors of change and, on the other, immigrants as agents of change; this implies challenges for the society where immigration arrives. Our main purpose is to understand how migrations are revealed as one of the most concrete ways of human mobility that generate impulses for change in this world, which is permanently in motion.
