In an earlier contribution [1], a thumb-nail sketch was presented of the method-dedicated dis- and advantages of mathematico-statistical strategies applied to injection moulding. Due to the problems encountered with quality optimising when employing physically established process-models, a procedure has been developed, which contains methodical elements according to Taguchi, Box and Shainin. Significant parameters and reciprocal actions are identified and their interrelations with the parameters examined are quantified The aim is to obtain an off-line process analysis and -optimisation on a mathemati-co-statistical basis, without information concerning material properties, or else material structure of the mouldings. Parameters concern article dimensions and -weight.
