摘要
In this paper, we endeavor to identify how the revolution for independence altered the administrative structures that were inherited from the Hispanic Empire in the case of the Rio de la Plata. In particular, we focus on how the functioning of the bureaucracy was reconstructed in the revolutionary day by day existence as it represents one of the essential aspects of the construction of the Latin American state in the nineteenth century. A few of the problems discussed in this article include the continuity from one period to another, the structural changes that were dependent on the construction of the state, the role of social and family-based networks for recruiting civil servants and the relation between civil and military posts as well as the subject of job stability.
