EFFECT OF DIELECTRIC SCREENING ON THE DONOR STATES IN A QUANTUM-WELL WIRE

摘要
Ionization energies of a donor in a GaAs/Ga1-xAlxAs quantum well wire have been obtained using two different dielectric functions in the potential energy term within the effective-mass approximation. The results show that the choice of the dielectric function is important, especially for small well widths. The contribution from the dielectric screening, while negligible for larger well widths, contributes about 5 meV for small well widths. © 1990.
