Outdoor activities as part of the content of Physical Education, theory or practice?

Currently, the activities in the natural environment are present in different areas of physical and sport practice: federations, schools, leisure and recreation. Among the different reasons and benefits associated with the practice of these activities, its conception as a healthy alternative of entertainment can be highlighted. These practices can be promoted to youngsters and the schools themselves, favouring a careful and respectful attitude to the natural environment. For these reasons, it should not be surprising that outdoor activities have been established as a self-contained block within the educational syllabus in Spain, in the area of physical education. Therefore, outdoor activities have to be practised in all schools in Spain. There are, however, many problems that affect their performance, relating to teachers, students or the context itself.
