DISCRIMINATING BETWEEN MONOZYGOTIC AND DIZYGOTIC CATTLE TWINS

Diagnosis of zygosity of cattle twins based on blood groups was matched in accuracy b diagnosis based on linear body measurements made over a two year period. As with blood groups, accuracy of diagnosis improved with number of body measurements. Genetically identical individuals were recognisable by their overall similarity in many traits, and could not be diagnosed successfully with only one or two traits.
