摘要
About the destinies of the socialist realism. The article traces the unordinary history of the literary process with its zigzags and deviations, it contains the analysis of the main theoretical theses of the new writer method. Born simultaneously with the revolution the socialist realism received its ideological and theoretical mounting during Stalin's dictatorship. Since that time it has become an obligatory norm of every work of art and degenerated into the feeble imitation. The unfortunate destiny of the great literary trend characterized by the privileged ideological position and artificially protected from competing trends, demonstrates the forgotten truth: freedom is the principal prerequisite of the development of Literature, creative work and spiritual life.
