摘要：

The article dwells on the history of the Russian emigration after the Revolution of 1917 with the focus on the situation in Bessarabia in 1918-1921.The author analyses the number of the refugees from the left bank of the Dniester, their living conditions and legal status, as well as the Romanian Government policy related to the refugee matters. Basing on the archival documents and materials from periodicals press, the author examines the activity of Russian organizations that protected the rights and interests of former Russians and provided legal humanitarian support. Special attention is paid to the charitable associations in Bessarabia.
