摘要：
To study dipolar interactions in 2D systems, we have built lattices of magnetised needles. These are complex systems with many metastable states, but can be described by concepts of equilibrium thermodynamics. In particular, a phase transition between an ordered phase and a disordered one is experimentally observed and confirmed by numerical simulation.
