摘要
The change in thermal efficiency when a uniform fouling deposit is added to an extended surface was determined by two-dimensional numerical analysis. Calculations were done over a wide range of parameters such as fin length, fin thermal conductivity and deposit thermal conductivity. The results were compared with two previously reported analytical models, namely, a Series Model and a Parallel Model. Owing to simplifications used in the models, major discrepancies exist between the analytical and the numerical results for most relevant situations, especially in the case of the Parallel Model.
