THE PUBLIC STRUCTURE FOR TOURISM AND THE PROMOTION OF THE SECTOR OF EVENTS IN DOURADOS-MS

This research aimed to investigate the current structure of Dourados - MS tourism official organ and relate the shape of this structure with the characteristic of a regional center that the city has. Complementarily, the research also objectified present some planning and management guidelines for the municipal tourism. For the development of the research were carried out theoretical review procedures, desk research and interview with the representative responsible for the official organ of municipal tourism. The results showed that there are few actions planned in the long term, several actions that occur as the demands happen and some actions that are part of the official schedule, like the gastronomic festival of the city. The absence of previously planned strategy is also reflected in the organ structure. Finally, the article points out some guidelines that can be used to enhance existing tourism resources and exploitable by the public and private sectors of the city.
