25 YEARS OF THE VISEGRAD GROUP

One of the founders of the Visegrad group (V4), historian and diplomat, minister of foreign affairs of Hungary in 1990-1994, gives answers to the questions that arise with passing of time regarding the establishment of F4. Historically, these countries have had much in common, and often they have striven for mutual support. Historical roots played a significant role in that after the collapse of the bipolar world, they managed to establish regional integration. The common goal of transition from one system to another contributed to the integration and its successful evolution. According to the author, the project has never been based on anti-Russian feelings as well as today it is not driven by opposition to Moscow. However, from the author's point of view, the key to V4 success lies in the Euro-Atlantic region.
