摘要
Boundaries and boundaries are living elements that change, not only geographically, but also conceptually. Throughout history, territories that were delimited, changed, but so did the idea of what boundaries and boundaries are. The idea of frontier was born as a natural phenomenon of social life, indicating the margin of the inhabited world, how far could be reached to obtain what is necessary to live. In addition, we have the concept of a border that the people themselves construct in their experience, with their perceptions, with their daily lives, and that, depending on the border, generates integration or conflicts. Limit, of Latin origin, meant the end of what maintains the cohesion of a political-territorial unit, to where the territory extends and begins another. The border is a factor of integration, a zone of mutual interpenetration, of constant manipulation of different socio-political structures and cultures, and of different interests. The boundary between the cities of Rivera and Livramento is conventional. The Rivera-Santa Ana do Livramento border has been a nucleator of population. A social, cultural, commercial, mutual influences, shared habits, customs that are interchanged, in a brotherhood, which is always present, although sometimes unnoticed.
