Some Contributions to the Construction of a Psychology of Liberation in Costa Rica: On Poverty, Human Development and Ethics

This article is an attempt to analyze the psychosocial implications of poverty in Costa Rica from a critical social psychology perspective, in the areas of human development and fundamental human rights violation. This is achieved through the questioning of the theoretical and ethical models of psychologists, and highlighting the social commitment of the discipline as it constitutes itself in a pivotal element in raising awareness that can transform material reality. This entails working for the general population, in a process of liberation, justice, and social equality.
