NEW ASPECTS IN THE THERAPY OF TUBERCULOSIS

In some cases of polyresistant tuberculosis it is necessary to find new therapeutical regimen out of the standard program. In a small group of patients we applied, additional to the well-known therapeutical concept, ofloxacin (Tarivid(R)) after having determined the actual resistance. With a single dose of 400/die ofloxacin over three months in combination with full-sensible drugs all patients profited by this alternative therapy without severe side-effects. The results allow to suppose that ofloxacin may be an efficient therapeutical alternative in the treatment of tuberculosis.
