摘要：
This paper proposes an object-oriented approach to the specification of manufacturing systems. The specification model is built around a set of concurrent cooperating objects whose behaviour is described using communicating finite state machines. One of the interesting features of this approach is that the systems environment can be included in the model. This allows for rapid prototyping of the system through realistic simulations.
