The Importance of Internet as Power Source of the Society

The following article argues over the relevance that civil society has acquired in different processes throughout the use of current computer tools such as the internet and social networks. In this manner, they have managed to gradually alter power structures in the civil society -State relations. Slowly, thanks to the information infrastructure and to the international communication technologies, it has been able to insert itself inside zones where it previously had a very limited presence. The ever growing intervention of counter power groups or collectives has allowed creating certain changes in the social tissue and in the construction of power. From what is exposed in this text, we analyze the historical process that has turned collectives such as "hacktivists" into active members of global development with a growing tendency of influence and the implications of their presence.
