INFLUENCE OF STRAIN-HARDENING ON SOIL-STRUCTURE INTERACTION OF FRAMED STRUCTURES

摘要
The paper deals with the soil-structure interaction analysis of a plane frame-combined footing-soil system, taking into account the elasto-plastic behaviour of the compressible sub-soil and its strain hardening characteristics. Comparison of the behaviour as regards the settlement of the foundation has also been made with behaviour of the system when the sub-soil is considered as behaving in a linear elastic manner. The elasto-plastic analysis with linear strain hardening has been carried out using the two Drucker-Prager yield criteria for soils, for which the convenient forms and their generalization for the computation of the plastic flow vector are presented for use in the finite element analysis.
