INCLUSIVE PRODUCTION OF ETA AND OMEGA MESONS IN PROTON-NUCLEUS REACTIONS

摘要：
A study is made of inclusive production of omega and eta mesons in proton-nucleus reactions in the first-collision approximation. In the case of eta-meson production it is shown that this approximation gives a completely satisfactory description of the data on the eta spectra. It is demonstrated that it is important to take into account effects of the medium in describing the elementary process of eta-meson production in the nucleon-nucleon interaction. The possible cross sections for the (p,omega) reaction are estimated.
