A study of ferroelectric domain configurations in modified lead titanate ceramics by transmission electron microscopy has been carried out to characterize the nature of ferroelectric domains. The influences of annealing and poling field on domain configurations are also discussed. X-ray diffraction technique was undertaken to obtain information about space distribution of 90 degrees domains under different poling conditions. This would help to correlate with the observed high anisotropy in the electromechanical properties.
