ION NEUTRALIZATION AT AN IONIC-CRYSTAL SURFACE

摘要
Ion neutralization near the surface of an ionic crystal is studied within the framework of the approximate many-level method. The tight-binding approximation is employed to model the ionic crystal by a one-dimensional semi-infinite chain of alternating s- and p-orbitals. The results obtained show that the substrate's electronic structure and its surface density of states play important roles in the resonance-charge-transfer process.
