COMPUTATIONAL RADIATION-CHEMISTRY - THE EMERGENCE OF A NEW FIELD

The role of the computer experiment as an information source, which is complementary to the "real" experiment in radiation chemistry, is discussed. The discussion is followed by a brief review of some of the simulation techniques, which have been recently applied to the problems of radiation chemistry: ion recombination in spurs and tracks of ionization, electron tunnelling in low-temperature glasses, electron localization in disordered media.
