摘要：

We propose a novel mode of operation for a nonlinear directional coupler. Launching two fields with different frequencies into the coupler and taking advantage of the dispersion of the linear dielectric coefficients, we show that a strong control field, guided in the central region, can switch a weak signal with a different frequency. It turns out that the switching power can be drastically reduced increasing the device length. © 1990.
