摘要：
On the background of the modernist approach to nationalism, the role of an elite in the formation of Turkish nationalism is discussed. This nationalist discourse is related to the basic economic strategies adapted in the early republican era. The main argument is that the way nationalist discourse is formed has an important reflections on economic strategies.
