摘要：
In this paper Jung's 'transcendent function' is used, in a broad sense, as bridging opposites. In patients who suffer from narcissistic disorders, the transcendent function has not emerged. This state of mind is explained according to Fordham's theory of deintegration/reintegration of the self; the essentials of the therapy are outlined.
