The Iconological Construction of Democracy. MORENA's Political Image

This article analysed the iconologic constructions of the concept /democracy/ in mexican political party Morena. Based in Erwin Panofsky's theory, Charles S. Peirce's iconological theory and semiotics outlook on Eco's work the research explore politicals images, establishing iconology as an understanding model for the meaning construction through forms. Moreover /democracy/ works both as a category of analysis and as a visual form. Used the Norberto Bobbio's definiton on democracy, in order to highlight the democracy's semantic features. As from these concepts, it is distinguished forms of visual representation and the resulting model is applied to images found on the official website of Morena.
