摘要：
In this essay we investigate the basic definitions and conceptions of the economics of crime and punishment - one of the important parts of modern institutional economics. An accent have been made on the economic approach to the analysis of human behavior. Crimes considered as the forced transactions and criminal behavior - as rational. Optimization (but not elimination) of criminality considered as real social problem. The main attention is paid to the models and approaches of such founders of this part of economics as G. Becker, T. Shelling, A. Ehrlich, M. Davis, J. Buchanan, R. Sah.
