AN EVALUATION OF ASIAN OLD CORRUGATED CONTAINERS

Asian old corrugated containers (OCC) are found in many supply sources owing to the volume of imports into the United States from the Far East There are a number of mills that reject out of hand OCC shipments containing Asian OCC because of the perceived low strength and low yield. Asian OCC samples fr om various countries were tested for yield potential, fiber characterization and strength properties. This paper summarizes these evaluations and compares Asian OCC to North American OCC.
