RARE-EARTH AND TRACE-ELEMENT DETERMINATION IN IRON-FORMATION REFERENCE SAMPLES BY ICP-MS

摘要
The application of inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) for the determination of 30 geochemically important trace elements, including rare earth elements (REE), in five iron-formation reference samples (FeR-1, FeR-2, FeR-3, FeR-4, and IF-G) is described. A multi-acid decomposition procedure is adopted with indium as the internal standard. Interference effects due to the metal oxide and doubly charged ions are discussed. The data obtained compare well with published data. Concentration values are suggested in several cases where certified data are not available.
