摘要
The influence of voids on the engineering elastic constants of paper is investigated in two parts. Part 1 describes a continuum micromechanical model that generates in-plane elastic constants and moisture-expansion coefficients of void-free papers composed of chemical pulp fibers. Predictions from the model are compared with existing experimental data from the literature. The modeling of voids, correction of baseline properties for voids, and further experimental comparisons are reported in the second part of the study.
