The Poetic Macrotext: A Methodological Concretion

Any methodology should open new reading horizons that approach read poetry more or less analytical intention. Nevertheless, these methods have curiously bypassed a highly proven and recurrent compositional reality: the poetic macrotext. It is proposed in this brief work some of the methodological and terminological keys for analysis them with some attention and depth, understanding also that these books dominate American literature despite of they have received little attention. Without claiming to establish here a sufficiently relevant corpus poetic, we wanted to implement, in an indicative way, our indications in the analysis and reading of a Mexican poet Jaime Labastida's book: Elogio de la luz y de la sombra.
