Brownian Motion and Thermophoresis Effects on Mixed Convection Boundary Layer Flow of Nanofluid Over an Exponentially Stretching Sheet with Joule Heating

摘要
This paper focuses on the study of the steady laminar mixed convection boundary layer magneto hydrodynamic flow of a nanofluid along an exponentially stretching sheet. The effects of heat generation, radiation parameter, Schmidt number, Eckert number, Prandtl number, joule heating, Brownian motion and thermophoresis parameters are considered. Using appropriate similarity transformations the governing partial differential equations can be reduced into non-linear ordinary differential equations. The transformed equations are then solved numerically using well known explicit finite difference scheme known as the Keller-Box method. The effects of the governing parameters on the fluid velocity, temperature, concentration, heat and mass transfer coefficients have been computed. The results indicate that the local Nusselt number decreases with an increase in both Brownian motion parameter Nb and thermophoresis parameter Nt. However, the local Sherwood number increases with an increase in thermal convective parameter lambda(T). Comparison with previously published work is performed and excellent agreement is observed.
