摘要
The article presents and modernizes the sub-Saharan African theology for the current theological discussion. For this task, having Peter Berger's sociological references and the Accra Declaration documents, Ghana, 1977, we intend to explore the typical African relationship between culture and religion. We also refer to the theoretical contribution of Paul Tillich and his famous intuition, "religion is the substance of culture, and culture is the form of religion". Questioning the process of colonization and according to the concrete situation of African communities, one can affirm that Christianity, as the founding religion of the West, is the substance of African communities' culture and the African culture shapes Christianity on the continent. Thus, the article discusses the characteristics of African contextual theology and its original thoughts.
