Current variations of Freud's conception of mourning

The article traces the conception of mourning in Freud's theory, from a Lacanian perspective. After pointing out the similarities and differences that Freud establishes between mourning and melancholy, it takes distance from Freud's idea of mourning as "work", in order to reflect on its subjectivization, which, following Lacan, may be conceived as the knotting of the public, private, and intimate spheres.
