摘要
A model is suggested which yields a correlation of the mean energy transferred in collisions of a highly excited polyatomic molecule with noble gas atoms. The model is based on consecutive direct encounters in a collision complex and incorporates the interplay between increasing interaction strength and decreasing energy-transfer efficiency due to the adiabaticity constraint. The model is illustrated by applying it to energy transfer in azulene-noble gas atom collisions.
