摘要
From a psychoanalytical perspective, the objective of this article is to discuss indifference as a position with respect to the Other, in order to suggest that resorting to the letter is a result and a singular creation that offers the subject a possibility of creating ties, on the basis of a logic of openness and recognition of alterity and difference. Situating the cause of indifference in the tension between the Other and jouissance makes it possible to address the modalities of participation and the awareness of the suffering of the others as effects of insertion into the social fabric, the logics that govern its ordering, and the possible inscription of the radical difference of the subject. Jacques Lacan's work on Pascal's famous wager regarding the inconsistency of the Other is used as a referent.
