KNOWLEDGE DIFFUSION IN AN ENDOGENOUS GROWTH-MODEL

R&D models of endogenous growth have the unwelcome implication that the growth rate of an economy increases in the size of its labour force. However, the introduction of a diffusion process through which new technology is gradually incorporated into the economy-wide stock of knowledge can reduce and eliminate the dependence of the growth rate upon the size of the economy.
