摘要
In an overview the new alternative model for personality disorders in the fifth edition of the diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders (DSM-5) is presented. The change from a categorical to a dimensional diagnostic process and the development of a hybrid model is explained by the historical transformation of the term personality disorder. The special features of the individual criteria, especially criteria A and B, are outlined in their complexity and are the core of the new diagnostics of personality disorders. The diagnostic process in the alternative DSM-5 model is demonstrated and illustrated using the example of antisocial personality disorder. The alternative model for personality disorders is an interesting and challenging advancement in the revised classification system of DSM-5.
