摘要
The objective of this research was to investigate the subjective quality of life of elderly people residing in Long Stay Institutions for the Elderly (LSIE). Based on the content analysis of eleven semi-structured interviews with elderly people living in a LSIE, it was found that the subjective quality of life of institutionalized elderly is positively affected by the institution's services related to the organization of religious celebrations, daily life and during social interactions between the elderly and the institution's employees. However, lack of privacy during the morning shower, compulsory withdrawal from retirement, lack of variety of food, and lack of leisure activities affect negatively the subjective quality of life dimensions.
