摘要
Melamine-formaldehyde resins are formed by condensation of melamine and formaldehyde into oligomers and polymers. As always, they compete successfully against newer plastics. In 1992 450,000 tons of melamine have been used for their production worldwide with 233, 000 tons in Europe alone. The applications include decorative layers for furniture, high pressure (HPL) and low pressure (LPL) laminates, moulding compounds, in glues for wood, as additives in paper and textile industries, and as a binder in baking varnishes. The environmental friendliness of melamine-formaldehyde resins in their processing is constantly opening new applications for them.
