The image of the American Constitution of 1787 during the ratification campaign

The article analyses the campaign for the ratification of the American Constitution of 1787. The constitution, its strong and weak points were the most heated topic of American political debate. The article studies the arguments of federalists and anti-federalists. The advocates of the constitution saw it as a version of perfect political system and hoped that it would help to consolidate society and to strengthen the country's position in the world. Their opponents pointed out to the dangers of the usurpation of power and of tyranny. The article analyses rhetorical strategies of the both sides.
