LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AGENCIES IN LATIN AMERICA. STUDY FOR MODELING

In Latin America, territories have contrasts in extent and physical characteristics; population size and social and cultural characteristics; national, regional and local legal framework; provision of economic and financial resources; institutional capacities; leadership of its actors and ability to establish alliances, among other things. This proposal is made in the study of local political systems compared in Latin America, identifying experiences of regional development agencies in a sample of countries and analyzing common and distinguishing features for, thus recognizing dominant models. To gather the necessary information a questionnaire was drawn up in Spanish and Portuguese to be answered by the Local development agencies, hereinafter ADL, which allowed analyzing different fundamental variables for typing. The fit of the data obtained allowed a complex matrix to interpret the information gathered for comparative way the local economic development policies in Latin American municipal systems.
