摘要
Brazil's entry into World War II was marked by a dispute between Hitler's Germany and the United States over the two countries' influence in Brazil, with Brazil's vast natural resources such as rubber, iron, manganese, cotton, coffee and sugar fuelling the quarrel. Governed by President Vargas from 1930, Brazil revealed its ability to maintain its balance in international relations and even benefit from such a position, as exemplified by the formation of the Companhia Siderurgica Nacional [ National Steel Company].
